On Mondays at SDRS you will find a group of ladies of various ages, taking part in a session of Keep Fit, provided by Jewish Care, courtesy of Chris Sternshine.  The programme starts at 1.45 pm and lasts approximately one hour, followed by some healthy snacks.  The cost is £3.25 per session, but this includes the Thursday Connect Club which is held at the Finchley Road Talmud Torah from 1.30 pm - 4.00 pm.  Contact us for further details.

JGSGB Meeting at SDRS

The first meeting of The Jewish Geneological Society of Great Britain at SDRS happened yesterday.  It was a great success with nearly all the chairs taken.  Anne Marcus hopes to be holding the next meeting there, probably in May.

Marcelle Baum's recounting of her and her husband's trip to Poland was both very interesting and emotional.  She also brought along a very special collection of memorabilia, including a carving of an old man which a member of her family had made whilst in the concentration camp.

Jewish Southend on Facebook

There is now a Facebook page for the Jewish Southend run by Anne Marcus.  To join this group, go to the Jewish Southend page on Facebook and tick 'join'.

Thursday Night Canasta Club

The Thursday night Canasta Club meet every week at SDRS, from 7.00 pm.  On 10th December, 2015, the members held a Chanucah Celebration and they also donated £50 to the Synagogue.

Adult Computer Help Sessions

Ken Lowey, a member of SDRS, is offering his services for any interested adult member who would like some help with mastering or enhancing their computer skills.  For more information and to arrange some sessions, please fill in the Contact Form or telephone the Synagogue and Ken will be happy to help.

Sessions would probably be held on the first floor of the Shul as the computers are situated there.
